MARGARET ALLEN, ACCRED.MBACP
Margaret Allen uses an integrative approach in her counselling, which means she draws from many theoretical models when working with clients.
Margaret worked for twelve years within the Health Service, whilst running a private practice. However, she now concentrates on her practice, which also includes mediation, organisational coaching and running workshops. She has a current enhanced CRB check.
Margaret has many years experience in working with individuals and couples and uses both analytical and creative methods but, above all, believes we can be helped if we can make sense of our problems. She has also undertaken training in Emotional Freedom Techniques and this is proving very useful in helping clients become less anxious.
Her next group workshops will be in providing support for those who are newly separated or divorced and these will be co-run with Marianne Downie, another highly experienced counsellor. Please make contact with Margaret if you are interested in these workshops. She is also a counselling supervisor.
Having qualified from The Northern Guild for Psychotherapy in 1999, she works with individuals and couples on both relationship and external issues.
All her work begins with a comprehensive assessment, which is a useful time for both the client and Margaret to make a decision as to whether counselling is the best option.
Margaret is passionately committed to the mediation process and, as a trained mediator, she works with separating and divorcing couples and also with workplace mediation.
Margaret also works as a divorce coach, by helping clients to feel confident in getting through what can be a very distressing and difficult process.
